The programme is aimed at promoting and providing a global exposure to mature Startups from India and the UK to help them begin their journey of globalisation. It also aims to help Startup ecosystem stakeholders from India & the UK to interact and learn from each other.
This initiative is fully aligned with and supports the Start-up India program, which is a flagship initiative of the Government of India; intended to build a strong eco-system for nurturing innovation and Startups in the country. This is aimed at driving sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities. The Government through this initiative aims to empower Startups to grow through innovation and design. To meet the objectives of this initiative, Government of India announced Startup India Action Plan that addresses all aspects of the Startup ecosystem.
With this background and to further accelerate the Indian Startup movement globally, techXchange is a platform that gives Indian Startups an exposure to expanding and collaborating abroad. It facilitates Indian Startups steer uncertainties, widen their perceptive of the start-up ecosystem around the world and help them accomplish their business on a global level, along with developing their transformative potential. Over the last two years, several Indian Startups have used this program to actually expand and engage with UK.
In 2018 the programme had facilitated the launch of OYO in the UK. DPIIT, Government of India and Invest India used the techXchange event in Sept 2019 to launch their Online Portal along with DIT UK to collaborate, in the presence of the High Commissioner of India to UK, several UK Agencies like DIT (Department for International Trade), DCMS (Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sports), London & Partners and Associations like techUK, Level 39, BDO, Manchester India Partnership, West Midlands Growth, Invest Wales, Scottish Development International, Ireland India Business Association and Partners like ICICI Bank - UK, Trails Trading, Indian Professionals Forum, IIMA Alumni London Limited, Instarem, Peach Ventures.
